Yee-Haw, it’s not Friday, are you ready for the RAPTURE anyway?

As you all are aware, our loony right-wing-fundamentalist friends at www.raptureready.com publish a weekly “Rapture Index” indicating how likely it is that the Second Coming is, well - coming.

OK rapture fans, last Friday, when last I updated you, the index was 152. This week it’s 150. Remember, the record high is at 182 set the week of September 24, 2001 and the record low is at 57 and was set during the week of December 12, 1993.

Well, bad news, or good news, depending. The index went down two. We have decreases of one each in the “Plague” department and over in “Wild Weather.”

Oh well, if the rapture comes, all the right-wing-fundamentalist-reality-challenged biblebanging bigots will disappear and we’ll get their stuff. So if you want to get “raptured,” you want the index to go up. If you want to get the rapturees’ stuff you want a rising index also. On the other hand, if you’d really rather have a nice peaceful world and don’t covet Tom DeLay’s Rolex, a decreasing index is for you.

The frightening concept about the entire “Rapture” concept is that a substantial number of those right-wing-fundamentalist-reality-challenged biblebanging bigoted buttheads who claim to believe in the Rapture are running our nation. These people believe that the Rapture is going to happen sooner rather than later, so why not rape the earth. What the hell, the future is now!
